This document summarizes key benefits described in the BHIS Employee Manual (rev. 2026.01.14). Benefits are offered to regular full-time employees (30+ hours/week).
- Insurance: Medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, and basic life insurance (coverage generally begins the first day of the month following hire; plans reviewed annually and may change).
- Health Insurance (Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield): Three plan options; in multiple plans BHIS covers 100% of premiums for employee, spouse, and dependent children for the PRIMARY 2000 PPO; the HDHP option includes an HSA contribution equal to the premium difference.
- Dental + vision: BHIS pays 100% of premiums for employee, spouse, and dependent children.
- Disability + life: BHIS pays 100% of premiums for sponsored STD/LTD and basic life; employees may elect additional life insurance (payroll deduction).
- Paid Time Off (PTO)/Holidays: PTO accrues based on tenure (3 weeks per year to start, 4 weeks per year at 4 years of service, and 5 weeks per year at 9 years of service), subject to carryover limits and an overall cap. In addition, regular full-time employees receive 14 paid holidays per year (department schedules may vary).
- Paid maternity/paternity leave: 5 weeks paid, plus 3 additional weeks of paid medical-related leave; can be taken anytime within one year following birth.
- 401(k): Eligibility after one full year and 1000+ hours logged; company match up to 4% of gross wages.
- Fitness reimbursement: Up to $600/year for eligible fitness related items.
- Home office allowance: $300/year for at-home office equipment (items become employee property)
- Internet/cell reimbursement: Reimburses half of monthly internet; may also expense half of the employee’s personal phone if not using a company phone. Company phone is optional for all full-time employees.
- Meeting meals: Up to $300/year reimbursed for lunch meals during internal meetings
- Work from home: all employees have the ability to work from home.
- Work schedule: standard 40-hour workweek, with core availability typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time (Monday-Friday) and flexibility as needed to support customers and teammates across time zones.
